International Membership

Aligning Liberia with Global Standards

Through its relationship with the International Organization for Standardization, LiSA strengthens access to international standards and supports Liberia’s progress toward greater technical capacity, trade alignment, and global competitiveness.

The Liberia Standards Authority (LiSA) is an Associate Member of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the world’s leading international body responsible for developing and publishing international standards.

🌍

About ISO

ISO comprises national standards bodies from over 160 countries and provides a platform for the development of consensus-based standards that support global trade, innovation, safety, and sustainability.
📘

Associate Membership Benefits

As an Associate Member, LiSA has access to a broad range of ISO standards and related resources. This enables the Authority to adopt relevant international standards as national standards and align Liberia with globally recognized best practices.
📌
Current Status
At present, LiSA does not participate in any ISO Technical Committees. However, the Authority is actively working toward future participation based on Liberia’s national development priorities and strategic sectors.
🚀
Future Participation and Capacity Building
This gradual approach allows LiSA to build the necessary technical capacity and institutional readiness for effective engagement in ISO’s technical work. Over time, this will strengthen Liberia’s participation in global standards development and improve national alignment with international best practices.
