Continental Participation

ARSO Standards Harmonization Across Africa

Liberia is a member of the African Organization for Standardization (ARSO). Through this platform, LiSA contributes to the development and harmonization of African Standards that promote trade, quality assurance, environmental responsibility, and sustainable development across the continent.

At the continental level, Liberia is a member of the African Organization for Standardization (ARSO). ARSO works to harmonize standards across Africa, supporting the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) by ensuring that African products meet common quality benchmarks and can compete globally.

The Liberia Standards Authority (LiSA), as the national standards body of Liberia, participates in the technical work of ARSO through a number of Technical Committees (TCs). These committees are responsible for the development and harmonization of African Standards (ARS) across key sectors. LiSA’s involvement enables Liberia to contribute to standards that promote quality, safety, environmental protection, and sustainable development across the African continent.
