National Technical Committees

Liberia Standards are developed through Technical Committees that bring together diverse stakeholders to guide the development, review, and harmonization of standards across priority sectors.

National Committee

Multi-Stakeholder Standards Development

LiSA’s Technical Committees provide the platform through which standards are developed with the participation of government, regulators, academia, civil society, industry, distributors, and consumers.

Liberia Standards are developed through Technical Committees. Currently, there are six (6) National Technical Committees, each made up of approximately 10–15 members. Members are drawn from a cross-section of stakeholders including government, regulatory bodies, academia and research, civil society groups, manufacturers, distributors, and consumers.

👥
Committee Membership
Each committee brings together representatives from key stakeholder groups to ensure broad participation and inclusive decision-making.
🧩
Working Groups
In some cases, the Technical Committee may establish Working Groups of about 3–5 experts to prepare preliminary drafts.
🏛️
Leadership
Chairpersons are normally drawn from neutral bodies such as universities, government institutions, or the relevant ministry, while committee secretaries are drawn from LiSA.
